Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the Native bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for years. Patrons from many of the nearby states pile in passenger cars and travel into Oklahoma to wager on Bingo on the weekends.

The 1988 IGRA became law after a precedent setting decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, twenty three of the 39 Native tribes of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gaming laws, and today run 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling dens were founded. computerized games like one armed bandits weren’t approved, owing to the fact that they’re thought to contribute to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law have altered to permit big Native betting gambling halls. You will now see American Indian gambling halls with slot machine games, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the Amerindian gambling dens as of yet, but this is only a matter of time. No one can authority what having different casino games in the bingo parlours will do for the popularity of bingo.
